The Perfect Reading Chair

Reading is one of my favorite things to do and having the perfect reading chair is equally as important. Here are some of the ones I drool over...

Closet/Dressing Room

I have a dirty little secret. While I love small houses and prefer them over the grandiose ones, I have a thing for large walk-in closets or a dressing room if possible. I think if it were up to me I could put the bed in the closet and use the bedroom as my dressing room...I'm not saying anyone would let me do such a thing but it's tempting. Here are some fantastic dressing rooms I've found.

This has always been one of my favorite closets...see it was probably the guest room, brilliant idea if you ask me.

Yes, I think one needs a chair in their closet. Maybe, that's the transition that turns the closet into a dressing room.

I admit my closet is organized by color too. I find this visually appealing.

Loves This Week

Things I loved this week...

It's design month in Austin. A friend of mine joined me at Threshold Furniture for a fun-filled event, including some chats with various designers in town. I love to see the furniture pieces in this store, modern and funky, never mind I can't afford anything in here, it's fun to look at.

I have to say my book club chose an amazing book for this month's read. I don't consider myself politically savvy, and I've been highly annoyed with our government for some time. This book helped me understand exactly what all is going on. Granted it was written in '06, our problems are now worse;-( I recommend reading this book.

Drinks with a good friend. I can't lie I've been flying under radar for sometime and am finally ready to jump back onto the social wagon.

My dog-child, Bronco, after playing on the Green Belt with his new friends this morning. I'm so excited we now go to the dog park and even have some play dates. This helps wear Mr. High Energy out...Mama can only run so much.

I love this pic, the entire thing. The desk and chair are fantastic, the color of the walls, the stack of books, the simplicity of the room...perfection!

I love dresses. One piece, jewelry and shoes...out the door you go. Nothing like a red dress either.

Happy Monday

Walls Are Fun

Another design thing I'm crazy for is wallcoverings...once known as wallpaper back in the 80's and looked a little something like this:

Super traditional and everything in the room matched the wallpaper. Well, we moved from that era to paint, and now, instead of wallpaper we have wallcoverings. Like anything from the 80's era it needed a new name. I have to say there are some amazing options in wallcoverings, take a look:

Yeah, I know I found a black option. No surprise there!

This fun metallic wall is actually a swanky hair salon in Austin, Propaganda. I need to go see the entire space the pictures look really cool.

Home Office

Home offices are an everyday need these days. When I think of my home and what I would want for a home office I'm all over the board on this one...below are some pix of the spaces I currently love. Enjoy~

I love the masculinity of this office, black brick, wood cabinets and the leather chair. Although, I think I could use that leather chair:-)

Yes, I think one can have a more glamorous office space...you might need to add a computer to this one.

I have always LOVED this office space...I think it's the art wall with a stack of books that make my heart swoon. Yeah, I'm sure the black wall also has something to do with it. Basically, I love every square inch of this one.

Shapes and Lines

It's no secret that shapes and lines make my heart go pitter patter...I wonder if it has anything to do with these things being some of the first we learn to draw in art class as kids. It's also how they taught us to create our perspectives in design school. Who knew you could create a couch from a rectangle and some squares. Basics that's what it's all about.
