Sleek Design

I'm digging my subscription to Interiors & Sources. The first issue and it's loaded with cool things. Below is a swanky showroom located in Dusseldorf, Germany. The Basler Showroom, designed by Blocher Blocher Partners. I love the cool gray metal with bursts of pink accentuating the current fashion of the showroom.

Candy

Boy, do I love a good candy store. I turn into a 5 year old upon entering such a heavenly place. I laugh because all my co-workers think I'm this super healthy person, which is sort of true. I say sort of because I can't buy or keep candy/junk food in the house. It doesn't stand a chance, and I have absolutely no will power over such things as "grab food" sitting in my house.

I ran across this awesome candy store in my Interiors & Sources magazine. Below is the Candy Room, located in Melbourne, Australia. Isn't it fantastic? Obviously, I need to see this in person:-)

McAllen, TX

Best of Competition winner for 2012 Library Interior Design Competition goes to Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. for the design of the McAllen Public Library. Heck yeah, good 'ole Texas! MSR Ltd used an abandoned Wal-Mart and converted into a library space. Great idea! Check it out!

120 Years

I had no idea Vogue had been around for so many years. 120 years is a long time. And to celebrate the year the September issue is HUMUNGOUS, as in 916 pages humungous. Granted Fall season is the best for fashion magazines filled with tons of style and crazy goodness.

First issue back in 1892
One of my favorite covers, 1949. Notice it only cost 50 cents. I just purchased the September issue for $6.99 and worth every penny. Too bad I'm in summer clothes for another 3 months.

Hobbies

There are a ton of hobbies I want to explore, however, space seems to be an issue. While perusing the design blogs I've noticed quite a few studios (referred to as the modern shed) built in people's yards. This beats the old school shed any day of the week. When I have a house I will totally build one. Just think you can leave it messy and no one will know.

MB Architecture built the studio container above. Supercool, right? Oh, the fun it will be.

I love the open doors with the deck above. I think Bronco would be pleased with this option.

One of my favs. Although, I won't 'office' in it. This space is for painting, sewing, building furniture, etc. Kithaus designed by Tom Sandonato and Martin Wehmann. Don't you want one, too?

Don't think I'm not already checking out dresses for the holidays...I am. Fashion is challenging in the sense you have to think way ahead of the time you actually need to wear the outfit. This is more difficult when you live in a super hot climate. I'm diggin' the gold dress above.

I'm in need of a new look and love the sleek sexy look above. Can't wait for some fall weather. This is my favorite time of year as far as fashion is concerned.

Architecture

The world is building some really cool libraries these days. Below are some pictures of the O.A.S.E. Medical Library in Dusseldorf, Germany and designed by HPP Architects. While I have no reason to step foot in a medical library I think the design on this one would be a ton of fun to learn in.

While it's true my heart will forever love the color blue. I do have a bit of a crush on it's cousin, purple. Do you like the color purple?
