Travel Anyone

I think layovers in airports would be so much better if they had a more hospitable design to them like the following ones. One is in Switzerland and the other in London. I could use some international travel.

Naturally, the colorful terminal is my fav. Hello, bright jewel tones, how I love thee. Obviously, I need to go to Biel, Switzerland real soon. Andrin Schweizer Company did a beautiful job.

The above is Biggin Hill Airport, London designed by SHH Architects. I think the muted tones would be a nice break from a harried travel day. Love them both!

New Month/Fresh Start

Promise yourself...
to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

to talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

to make all your friends think that there is something worthwhile in them.

to look at the sunnyside of everything and make your optimism come true.

to think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

to be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

to forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

to wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.

to give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

to be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

to think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.

to live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Barometer

I'm in a rut. I've felt off kilter for a while now, not sure if it's weather related, or I'm just plain lazy. I haven't had much motivation and that's really not like me. While perusing pinterest (my latest addiction) I stumbled across a list of questions that I've decided to adopt to my life to keep me on a forward moving track. Here they are:

TODAY:
What did I do for
my mind?
my body?
my spirit?
my relationships?
my creativity
and passion?

So every night before bed I have to write the answers to these questions. Also, I have a girlfriend of mine in San Francisco holding me accountable to my weekly goals. Forward movement here I come!!!

Meeting the Grandparents

Recently I took Bronco to meet his grandparents. He did very well on the long 7 hour drive to Ruston, La. I knew once we got there he'd be a happy camper with lots of land to run, pee and poop on. Not too mention we got to go on lots of runs without a leash, this makes for a happy mama. Now, I really wanted to show the awesome pine trees and lush land that makes up my hometown, but guess what I took pix of buildings instead??? You'll need to trust me, there's some awesome greenery in Ruston!

Hello, Sushi restaurant in big 'ole Ruston...very good I might add.

This is my mom's old clothing store. She owned it for 27 years. Let's just say my wardrobe has suffered since she sold it. I blame her for my lack of clothing:-)

Ruston High School

Yes, we were the Bearcats...obviously, needed to include Bronco on this one.

I love the architecture of Ruston State Bank. Sorry, I was too lazy to photoshop the cables out...

This is a little blurry, but never fails to crack me up. Bronco is guarding me...those Johnson's are some scary folks. The best part is at night when I shut us in my room, if he heard my parents roaming around he would growl at them, really???

Oh, look what my grandaddy let me do. Someone doesn't get on furniture at home, but wow, does he look at home here.

Random Loves This Week

I've gotten behind on posting lack of motivation. I think the ATX heat has melted my brain. I was hoping I could organize my picture postings, but I'm still on the random side of things, this may be the story of my life. Here we go with more random pix!!!

Awesome bubble tiles.

I'm digging the color gray lately, sprinkled with hot pink = tons of fun!

I love when there are curves in floors or walls, places you don't expect to see curves.

Dreams

I'm dreaming of colder climates...now that we've hit 70/71 days of 100 degree weather and broken the 1925 record, can we please drop back to the 90's...I don't think that's too much to ask. Thanks!

The Laughing Hearts

"your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you."

Starting the Week on the Right Foot

Source: flickr.com via Katie on Pinterest

Beginning today,
treat everyone you meet
as if they were going to
be dead by midnight.
Extend them all the
care, kindness, and
understanding you can
muster, and do it with
no thought of any reward.
Your life will never be
 the same again.

Quote Time

Take chances, take a lot of them.
Because honestly, no matter where
you end up and with whom, it always
ends up just the way it should be.
Your mistakes make you who you
are. You learn and grow with each
choice you make. Everything is
worth it. Say how you feel, always.
Be you, and be ok with it.

Introducing BRONCO!!! I am a proud mama of a Boxer Mix. I've been looking for a running pawtner (pun intended) for a while now. A few trials with some other dogs that didn't work out, then a friend posted she needed to find an active, loving home for her dog, Bronco. Here we are:

Keeping the 'hood safe!

Please pet me, I'm so cute...

Very happy after an evening walk even if it's 400 degrees.

Wiped out after a morning trail run. We're currently building up his base mileage...He LOVES to run. Saturday mornings are sad when I put on my running shoes and leave him behind...he's not real sure what to think of that quite yet.
