Ideas
As I stated in my previous post I really want to paint my bedroom black. It gets TONS of natural light so it handles deep colors well. Now, if I paint my bedroom black I will need all new bedding. I'm thinking crisp white...however, if I go that route I'll have to add in some rustic stuff too. There is wood furniture in the room that needs to stay there. My thought process is to stain the current pieces a little darker and figure out my headboard. It's a good thing I mull things around in my head for a bit, because I've changed my mind completely from what I originally wanted my bedroom to look like. I had been eyeing this leather headboard at West Elm.
But guess what- I have no desire to spend $450 on this piece of furniture at this time. While it is lovely I've since changed the look I'm after. Apartment Therapy another blog I follow has been writing some great posts on DIY headboards. I've found one I really like.
The headboard I currently LOVE! Now, I think I would paint white over the wood because I'm obsessed with that look right now...but then again I may just leave it like it is...I will not attempt to paint the word love on the DIY headboard. I already know that end result.
Here are some other ones for fun!

Fun Things!
Things I'm diggin' right now!!!
I love flowers all the time...I need to find a good place in Austin to keep me stocked, and a place that doesn't break the bank.
I can't get enough of 3-form poured or pressed glass products. Ok, they're only used in commercial applications, and I always found a way to use them in my projects for school. I love the aesthetics they can provide for a space.
I'm really flirting with the idea of painting my bedroom black...
In case you needed to see black in another room. Books another love of mine. I could probably live without the nudie art, though.
Granada Tile mainly used for backsplashes, countertops, & flooring. I want to paint it on a canvas and use it as art work. Just an idea.
I love the metal chest of drawers and the humungous mirror.
The lavender couch perfect touch of color. Hello, chandelier you should be in my house.
I spy peacock blue...still my fav!
The best flavor of ice cream in the world, EVER!!! I'm eating it a little to regularly these days;-)

RIP Elizabeth Taylor
It was a sad commute this morning...I was on the entrance ramp to I-35 when I heard the news, Elizabeth Taylor had passed away. Sad, sad morning...RIP.
Some great quotes from the Woman:
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.
If someone's dumb enough to offer me a million dollars to make a picture, I'm certainly not dumb enough to turn it down.
Did you know Elizabeth Taylor was the first actress to make over $1 million...this tidbit comes from WSJ.com

OH MY
I thought you should know I follow a ton of design blogs to the point I can barely keep up and tend to scroll through them rather fast...I'm all about the visual. Today, Trendir posted a fantastic blog about a Turkish rug company, Miinu and I had to share. Miinu takes 50 year old carpet and turns it into a modern masterpiece of colorful fun. See for yourself.
Seriously, the multi-color can go in ANY room...how fun!!!
Words need not describe this chosen rug;-)

Motivation
I was off to such a good blog start in the new year then somewhere along the way fell off the wagon. So how 'bout a quote I read on Twitter this am. Enjoy!

Coolest Art Project
I stumbled across the coolest art project in my home state, Louisiana, while perusing the freshome blog (click on the link to read the entire story). I think it's a great idea considering all that New Orleans has suffered and is still suffering. Kudos to Candy Chang the urban planner/artist for installing this public art project. Without further adu here is a montage of the cool project. Enjoy!!!

Hmmm...
I must admit I've always admired glass houses, but being the streaker (in doors) that I am I've always shied away from them. Until now that is...I've figured out a way to have one. It can be my 'country home,' in a modern way of course. While perusing Freshome I ran across the most spectacular post on a cabin built in Norway by architect Tommie Wilhelmsen. When I read cabin the last thing I envisioned were the following pix.
I love the curves on the exterior. See what I mean...not the cabin that I imagined, but right up my alley.
With enough land I think it would be safe for me to have a glass house.
With a second home I welcome the minimalist approach...really makes for a relaxing escape from the real world.
Ok, I needed a little sparkle...I couldn't go all colorless.
